Barbara Green – Dorset Artist.

Barbara Green is a local Dorset Artist who works in a variety of media including Oil Paintings, Acrylics, Etchings, Giclee Prints and Collagraphs.

Barbara’s inspiration comes from the local Dorset area. Including Lyme Regis, Bridport, Morecombelake and Dorchester. Her work can be viewed at various local galleries across Dorset, UK.

“The inspiration for my art comes from walks along the coast and through the countryside of Dorset making sketches which capture the essence of the places seen.

The constantly changing colours and textures of the area, the weather, the buildings and the people are all captured in my paintings. I work in oil, collage and also use printmaking methods such as collagraph and etching.”

Barbara Green is a regular exhibitor at Dorset Art Week.

Dorset Art Week is one of the largest of its kind in the country. Artists all over Dorset open their homes and galleries for everyone to enjoy.

Her work can be viewed  during Dorset Art Weeks Open Studio events and at other times by appointment.

Barbara Green Dorset Artist.

Barbara has painted and sketched since her teens. After an Art based teacher training at Trent Park college, she taught for many years, continuing to paint in her spare time.Since retiring 20 years ago, she has set up her own studio in her house which is in a delightful setting on the slopes of the Hardown Hill overlooking Lyme Bay.

She has regularly taken part in Dorset Art Weeks and other open studio events with great success. Her work has been shown in London at the Bankside Gallery, Rowley Gallery, and in London exhibitions ‘The Affordable Art’ show and ‘Works on Paper’.

She has exhibited in Salisbury including the Playhouse and Hospital, The Octagon Theatre Yeovil, Axminster Arts Cafe, Ilminster Meeting House Gallery, Milton Keynes and Abbotsbury. Her paintings are in private collections throughout Britain and also in Denmark, Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany, Australia and the U.S.A.
