Dorset Art Weeks will be returning in 2026 with a new and improved event.
Dorset Art Weeks, is an exciting event across Dorset where around 1000 artists open their studios to the public. It is one of the largest Open Studio events in the United Kingdom.

“The inspiration for my art comes from walks along the coast and through the countryside of Dorset making sketches which capture the essence of the places seen.
The constantly changing colours and textures of the area, the weather, the buildings and the people are all captured in my paintings. I work in oil, collage and also use printmaking methods such as collagraph and etching.”

Barbara Green is an established local artist hailing from the picturesque region of Dorset.
With a rich and diverse artistic palette, she masterfully maneuvers across a variety of mediums, skillfully crafting her expressions through mediums such as Oil Paintings, Acrylics, Etchings, Giclee Prints and Collagraphs.
Her artistic versatility allows her to capture the essence of her inspiration in ways that resonate with both her personal vision and the appreciative eyes of her audience.
Barbara draws her inspiration from the charming Dorset region, encompassing places like Lyme Regis, Bridport, Morcombelake, and Dorchester.
You can explore Barbara’s creations at the Cove Gallery in Weymouth, various local galleries throughout Dorset, and even at her personal studio, which opens its doors during Dorset Art Weeks 2024. Barbara has painted and sketched since her teens. After art based teacher training at Trent Park College in Middleex, she taught for many years, continuing to paint in her spare time. On retirement some 20 years ago, she set up her own studio in her home in a delightful setting on the slopes of the Hardown Hill overlooking Lyme Bay.
She has regularly taken part in Dorset Art Weeks and other open studio events with great success. Her work has been shown in London at the Bankside Gallery, Rowley Gallery, and in London exhibitions ‘The Affordable Art’ show and ‘Works on Paper’. Her work can currently be viewed at Cove Gallery in Weymouth.
She has exhibited in Salisbury including the Playhouse and Hospital, The Octagon Theatre Yeovil, Axminster Arts Cafe, Ilminster Meeting House Gallery, Milton Keynes and Abbotsbury. Her paintings are in private collections throughout Britain and also in Denmark, Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany, Australia and the U.S.A.
